Hi with the floppy 40 error it will be either
  1. Floppy cable not connected properly or wrong way around
  2. Bad floppy cable
  3. Bad Floppy drive - I/O
  4. Wrong Drive Type Set In Bios 5.25 instead of 3.5
with the CPU error from memory there is a setting in the bios to set it to auto instead of manually calulating the clock ratios.

save to bios and exit.

Stll have the same errors?

Was the battery brand new Zeld? Normally CR2025 or CR2032 3v. The exact voltage is important. Use a multimeter if you can. Make sure the base of the battery is making contact, and the side metal clip is touching the side of the battery firmly. It's possible that these connections could be broken or corroded, and the RAM part of the CMOS is no longer receiving power, or may no longer be able to save it's data any more.

I've checked out your motherboard. Some motherboards have an external 3/4 pin connector you can connect an external battery to in the event the onboard one is no longer functioning, but the board does not have this facility. Nor can the CMOS be removed and replaced, by the looks of it is also soldered to the board. In this case, if the problems are hardware related, then the only option would be to replace the board

Not so Mad-- they can be replaced.
Badflash Bad Flash

Question is-- are you that attached to your motherboard?

They can be replaced but but the time you pay someone to unsolder and solder a new one in you could buy a new mainboard. If it is the battery there are ways around this problem you can solder a battery to the bios chip I have done this before but I will need to track down the pinouts. But to be honest it will most likely be a dodgy battery I think. Best to get a multi meter and test the battery and if it is ok I would test the curcit between the battery and the bios.

I don't know but it might be this. I have just recently installed a new hard drive, an 80GB seagate barracuda. I had to replace my 40GB WD hdd because it made noises and finally gave up on me. I did install windows and after that, the error appeared.

BUT,

I tried removing all the drives and boot the PC to see if it was the hdd, but without anything connected to the MoBo, the error still appears.

Hope that helped. I don't want to give up on my motherboard, cause I don't have the money to replace it.
