Default [Answered] Creating a basic Boot disk (CD/USB) with formatting tools

Hi there.

I know that this topic has generally been covered but I want to creat something a little different (I think)!

I want to create a boot disk that will alllow me to directly choose a format option (not necessairily re-parttition) without having to reboot into recovery mode from CD & then choose all the options.

The reason being is that the last time I did this there was no option to format the disk to re-intsall XP Prof.

So what I am after is a Boot disk/USB drive utility with format (especilaly NTFS) & Fdisk options only so I then can install XP.

I have about 25 PC's to reformat & reload over the next 6 weeks and I find using the recovery console method time consuming.

If I have use MS_DOS to do a low leverl format or even Fdisk then that is OK. I prefer not to use Fdisk at this stage unless there are serious problems.

I am aware of BARTPe & Bootdisk.com & I am not too sure if they provide a utility like this.

Any advice is appreciated.

Lionel

Hi welcome to PCHF "you mention I have about 25 PC's to reformat & reload over the next 6 weeks and I find using the recovery console method time consuming." In this case the best option would be to make a unatended setup copy of your XP pro. I have one it save me tons of time here instructions on how to MSFN's Unattended Windows : Step 4 - Creating a Basic Unattended Setup
