Default Can't Delete Desktop Files!

I have run into a problem that is driving me nuts!
When I try to delete some .jpg files on my desktop for some reason an automatic copy
is being made, so that the files will NOT go away :-0
I now have dozens upon dozen of copies on my desktop.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?

Hi pamgm.

You seem to have 2 problems:
1) Some program or malware program is creating the files;
2) You can't delete the files;

First, you need to locate and get rid of the program that is creating the files.
I suspect malware:

Hi There, you can also remove them by using "Regedit" Heres how, Click Start then Run Type in the dialouge box regedit and click o.k. then make sure that all the areas in the left pane have the + sign next to them Then click on "Edit" and in the box at bottom click on "Find" type in the name of the program or icon then press enter...There may be several entries firstly make sure that it is the right program, and dont just remove the value but everything. then press F3 each time you want the search to continue. By the way to delete the program right click on it and select "Delete" There are occasionally some that cannot be deleted so just press F3 and move on with the search.

Computercrazy.

PS I do this when I delete a program from my computer to pick up any stray entries left behind even after cleansing program. The worse offender is AVG I found over 150 ebtries after removing it.
