Default burn cd problems

new novice computer user needs help. have basic dell dimension computer, upgraded to 1g of ram. listen to internet music and record using opd2d in document file. move file to burrn program and burn. then take cd to truck to listen. volume is very, very low and lot of static. adjusted writing speed to one, tried windows media 11 and other programs, that i've since deleted, same results, very low volume.
dell replaced cd burner last month.
have been all over net looking and trying anything to solve problem, nothing works.
somehow, i think it's something very simple, something i'm not doing.

if anybody has any advice, i will certainly listen.

thank-you in advance and have a wonderful day,

Hmm...it could be caused by the program that records the sound. Recording live streams usually doesn't give you the best quality possible!

the problem is not with your burner, but with your method.

the songs, any songs if recorded with any software will have a very low quality, so dont expect much from them.

why record them when you can get original songs for free via P2P, I can name a few applications but I'm not sure if I am allowed to discuss this here.

No discussion about illegal pirated or stolen software/movies/games/music
No support for software created to download any of the above
Nope
