Got to be careful with this one-- there is a legit system file that looks almost the same as this Virus--this is deliberate trickery to help hide it.
If you are up-to-date (all service packs-- and a good AV) you should be all right.
The Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool gets most variants.
If you're not sure...then a HJT log analysis might be necesssary

Thanks ih8bills.
I did a prework on a pc with that virus and did a HJT scan, but unfortunately it does not appear on the list. The List is actually clean.
What should i do?

No offense-- but did you post the logfile in the HJT Logs forum for security team--?
Just because that particular file is not there-- does not mean it's clean.
These things evolve-- sometimes daily-- people create new nasties-- and rewrite older ones -- just for "kicks".
You may be perfectly clean-- you may not-- I'm saying it takes someone trained to spot these things to take full advantage of HJT

Ok thanks for the info. I did not post the log, cause I don't have his PC anymore. I did a reformat
on his system because his OS was corrupt. Well, obviously, he doesn't know anything about computer management. I'll try to give them a tutorial on how to keep their computers clean and free from viruses.
Thanks.

Hi guys

I seem to have this virus on my PC but cannot run a scan because the computer does not even load windows. It just gives a pop up "Object name not found" LSASS. I have tried rebooting and repairing the windows xp but the computer wont recognize the CD or disc that I insert for such operations. Because nothing elese seems to work now I am thinking to make the hard disc of this PC slave to my laptop and then investigate the problem further. Can someone please advise me how to connect the PC and laptop in master slave configuration and any other useful ideas. Thanks
