Default Severe issues, Windows installer unavailable, programs constantly crashing.

I tried doing the prework to start getting some help on these problems, but SUPERAntiSpyware would not install due to the Windows Installer being unavailable. I am -not- running in Safe Mode.

This has been causing me problems for some time, and now it's peaked. For some reason my Internet Explorer and Yahoo messenger now crash every time I open them up. I've never been so ****** off at a computer, and feel like wiping the hard drive and starting over.

Please help! I have HijackThis! downloaded and installed, but could not get to SUPERAntiSpyware, like I said. Please let me know what scans I should do and logs I should post to get started.

AVGAS and CCleaner installed successfully. Should I go ahead w/ the AVGAS scan even if I can't run SAS after it?

Another Edit: Found a thread I thought might help on the Installer: [Fixed] Windows Installer will not work Problem is, I can't even find the Installer directory. It's #$%&ing gone!

And now my bookmarks are all gone. Also forgot to mention that my Windows XP doesn't like to load properly sometimes. It'll come to the welcome screen, and I'll be unable to click anything. I can move the cursor, but not open a profile. I guess I'm lucky that it doesn't do this ALL the time. At least it might still be remedied. >.<

I hope you get some answers. I started having some of the same problems recently on my Windows XP system. I have one program that will open but not run as another program piggy backs on and I can't delete the program as the .msi is missing. Also my windows\installer is nowhere to be found.

Have you tried downloading the windows installer from MS's website?
It can be found here.

Try downloading and installing it, afterwards, try to install SAS again. If it works, do a prework as suggested and post a log here.

Hope that helped.

Well I think it would have helped if this computer wasn't such a pile. I installed it (twice) and both times it seems to vanish. Some virus must be eating at it.

If none of the techs can help me, can you just tell me? I'm getting very frustrated, and if I can't be helped, I'd really like to know so I can take this over sized paperweight to be professionally fixed.

Internet Explorer and Yahoo messenger aren't crashing anymore, which seems strange to me. Aren't computers supposed to do the same thing every time? They just run programs, so it should be behaving predictably.

I guess I shouldn't complain about it, but I'm just confused.

Yes and no. Nothing is entirely random on the software level (though it may seem that way and sometimes pretty much is), but on the hardware level it can be. If, for example, you have defective RAM, CPU, HDD, or an overheating issues (no reason to suspect any of that here at the moment, though), it can be entirely random (albeit based on somewhat nonrandom catalysts).

Are you getting any Blue Screens of Death (BSODs)? If so, please go here and follow the instructions.
