Windows XP/2000 - best free anti-spyware? posted in the Operating Systems forums; i use avg anti virus, but it overlooked some files and those files (virus/spyware) found its way into my website db and i'm practically ruined. ok i cant afford any ...

Exclamation best free anti-spyware?
i use avg anti virus, but it overlooked some files and those files (virus/spyware) found its way into my website db and i'm practically ruined.

ok i cant afford any software as i dont ave a credit card.

so what is the best free anti spyware or the best free anti virus.

avg free has failed me, so now what???

Hi faraz_k86,

Have you tried Avast home edition for anti-virus?
Free antivirus - avast! 4 Home Edition

And for anti-spyware, I use Ad-aware 2007 & Spybot S&D

Avast is good...but according to recent software studies...clamwin is the best freeware.
It caught 100% of viruses they tested it with.

so for virus i'll use clam win but what about spyware, what should i use for that??

any recomendations ?

how are the ones illusion recommended?

Please note that ClamWin Free Antivirus does not include an on-access real-time scanner. You need to manually scan a file in order to detect a virus or spyware.

so that means that i can keep both clamwin as well as avg on my system,

avg for real time scanning and clamwin for folder scanning
