My mistake I meant the norton removal tool. It has been a long day of troubleshooting several different problems.
Which reg cleaner would you recommend - I hope to find a free one that won't let me make to big of a mess. I have a RAID5 configuration and I am also new to that so I am afraid to make drastic changes.
RE: my IDE controller issue I just bought a SATA DVD burner - I hope it works since I have a RAID5 configuration. I don't want to RMA my Motherboard.
Sorry I was mistaken about the resgistry cleaner.

I would also try using Norton Removal Tool - Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Norton removal tool is basically an uninstaller for Norton, except it completely removes any trace of Norton. It is a lot more thorough than Add/Remove programs. It is also made by Symantec themselves.

As far as a registry cleaner, you can click on my CCleaner link and get that. If you use the Issues button, that looks for registry problems and cleans them up. Free download and a good program to have around.

Hope that helps!
Hi,
I just downloaded CCleaner. Now to do no harm. Thanks - I will be careful about deletions since I don't have a backup of this computer.

Thanks I downloaded CCleaner and I am going to try that program to help with some other issues.

CCleaner is a good tool --it is aggressive though.

If you need to backup Erunt is a great free tool

ERUNT download and review - registry backup tool from SnapFiles

Easy Cleaner is also good--simple to use and default settings are very safe.

Oh thanks so much for the warning re: CCleaner. I don't need to add additional problems.
