Default [Answered] Clicking Noise

I'm really new here, and I don't really know my way around computers all that well, but I'd really appreciate some help. I have this problem on my computer, where this clicking noise keeps on coming from the speakers about every minute or so. It's very annoying. It's the same sound that can come from your speakers when you click on a link on the internet. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and if they have, if they knew how to fix it. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello j-man55, welcome to PCHF.

Does this occur when you first switch your PC on, and have not started any application?

Do you have any web based monitoring software installed on your PC?

Some web based software applications, as well as some web sites use "Auto Refresh" which will keep the current page or status up to date. These include chat rooms, certain web site monitoring software, e-bay reminders, clock syncronizers to name but a very few. These normally run in the system tray (next to your clock). You can normally right click on these to exit or disable. If it's not software that your aware of, then it's possible it may be malware.

EDIT: Marked as Answered (for now), If you experience any further problems, please can you check out PCHF Prework on my signature. The link describes how you can post a Hijackthis and AVG log back here. We will get a member of security to check these logs for you (Valis), and rule out malware issues before proceeding further.
