The reason I asked you this is because I had a similar problem and it was a fake avi just to get you to download the player and codec so you get flooded with popups and spywhere. The player it will want is 3wPlayer I can't remember the name of the codec? But this issue sound familiar and smells fishy to me.

Yep same as AVI preview especially if it says .avi on it. I like both programs

avipreview says the file format is invalid abd it failed to extract any relevant video data and asked if i was sure it was a video file

ok new file issue lol.... I have a realplayer file (and it only works with realplayer I tried it with VLC and it only loads the sound not the video... however the video isnt in english thus needs subtitles... there is an SRT file with the video (which Im assuming are the subtitle file) however I dont know how to load that with real player.. is there anyway to do that.. or an alternative program i can load the file on that offers subtitle file support?
