Default Wireless Problem

Hi, I have a problem with my home's wireless network. Yesterday, I did a fresh install of windows xp sp2 in my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1501) and everything went fine, except that now I can't connect to the wireless network that's set up in my apartment.
I've tried all the steps that forums all around the internet list, like releasing/renewing ip from cmd screen, removing and recreating the network in my laptop, updating the wlan card's driver and I even shut down my firewall, but nothing seems to work.... The only way I can connect to the internet is through the ethernet adapter, and I can access the other computers in my LAN, but when it comes to connecting to the wireless, it "sees" the signal, but never gets an ip assigned... I think it has something to do with the "unable to reach your dhcp server" message I get when trying to renew the ip, but this dhcp thing's got me completely puzzled... please help

Red face Re: Wireless Problem

This might be irrelevant to your situation, but have you recently added any thing to your house such as wireless cameras or wireless phones etc? I worked on a Pubs wireless LAN & it baffled me until I finally remembered they had just added a wireless camera system & sure enough, it was interfering with the wireless LANS signal.
I could connect directly to the router & the Jukebox was working (internet jukebox but is connected directly to the router) & I could only get the signal when very close the the wireless routers signal. That's what led me to believe it was the camera system & it was, so I told them to either keep the cameras & ditch the 802.11 (which would of been a bad idea) or to just get a wired cam system. So they just gave up the cam system.
Just a thought if youv'e already tried other things.
