| Windows XP/2000 - Windows XP default administrator password posted in the Operating Systems forums; I know windows Xp has a default administrator password. Cant remember it. Had a few drinks tonight so searching for it is not exactly what I feel like doing right ... |

I know windows Xp has a default administrator password. Cant remember it. Had a few drinks tonight so searching for it is not exactly what I feel like doing right now. Hoping some of you lovely pchf members can help me out. What is that pass

i dont know of any default admin password. there is a Administrator profile with no psswd in safe mode. when you boot your computer, just before POST ends, repeatedly press F8 until the boot option menu comes up. boot in safe mode and you can access the Administrator acct.

the password for the administrator is set during windows installation, which is normally left blank.
so if it was left blank, then there is no password, if it still asks for a password, ask the guy who installed the operating system |

No default password for any admin account in any version of windows - this is a very large security risk if it was.

if you can access the desktop click "start" then click "run" when the box comes up type "cmd" then "ok" it will say at the top of te box "c:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" if so type "net user" press enter them all the users will come up then type "net user your win xp user name *" then press enter it will say type a password for the user hit the enter key then it will say it again hit enter again it will say the command completed successfully then type "exit"
