Hi, I have a problem which I hope someone can solve for me. Every time we have a power cut I have to reset the date and time on my pc. I have changed the CMOS battery twice but the problem is still there, has anyone any other ideas how to solve this?

Hi panesaar,
A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) will prevent this problem. I suspect that the power supply within your PC is not powering off gracefully when the power is cut. There may be "spikes" of power during the cut-off that the power supply is passing through to the motherboard that is corrupting the BIOS time settings and other settings, too, perhaps. If you have a desktop PC you should/might be able to replace the supply for a good quality one for less than $50 US.

Also may I add, as I had this problem in my new box..
Make sure the jumper on your motherboard is seated correctly.. If you look near the CMOS battery there should be a little pastic jumper.. Make sure it is on the left 2 pins instead of the right 2 pins
