My friend has a dell (will post specs shortly) and all of a sudden his sound would not play and his usb also not detected. I ran spybot a few adware problems which I cleaned but still did not help. When I checked in control pannel audio section the sound card was not detected, I then proceeded to go into systems to find out what type of sound card he had, and nothing was in his systems. I think he might have a virus due to the mrs. and I am going to try installing some virus software. Has anyone come across a problem like this who might be able to offer some advice ?

If you suspect a virus, then please do the prework in my signature on his PC and someone trained will take a look at the results to see if there is any further action required...

Also sounds to me that the motherboards on its way out, due to the USB not working.
