Unhappy Desktop Booting Problem

Hi there my desktop recently developed a problem with booting up that I cant seem to solve. It started the other day I was listening to some music with Windows Media when all of a sudden the screen goes blank and the PC reboots, when it comes to the very first screen after it turns on it lags for a very long time doing nothing and all of a sudden gives me a beep coming from the case and tells me to press F1 to resume, but pressing F1 does nothing no matter how long I wait (I've left it there several hours before but nothing ever happens) At first I thought it was windows, maybe a virus so i formated my hard drive hoping this would fix it but even after the format it still has the same problem. I cant even get into the setup by pressing DEL I press it but it just sits there doing nothing. This problem really has me confused so I was hoping somebody here could shed some light? Well thanks for looking, Cheers

Any error messages on screen?
If nothing, is there an option to show the boot messages - if so take that and report back any other messages.

Sounds to me like your keyboard or keyboard socket might be done for though.

Hi thanks for the reply, well I tried it today and it randomly worked no trouble booting up! And its Windows Media Player thats causing it, everytime I try and do anything with Media Player 11 it reboots and luckily enough its been starting back up ok the last few times its done it. Have any of you guys heard of anything like this before? I have never had this problem before but it's really starting to get on my nerves.
Cheers
