I have been having problems with my media player. Whenever I try to watch a movie using Media player, I hear the tone for the program and window opening, but, I have no picture or sound. I think I'm having a .class problem. When I loaded Windows, it was having problems reading certain files. Some scratches on the disk. I don't want to buy a new disk or upgrade to Vista. What can I do to fix this problem?

What version of WMP are you running ? 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 ?

Download WMP 11 from here and see if the problem persists.
