Hello guys I'm new here
I have a question,It's been nearly a year now that I have two files on my computeur that are o bytes , that my computeur dont recognise.It's basically two icons on my desktop and everytime I trye to drag them on the recycle bin it say "cannot read from the source file or disk" it's really annoying to have useless icons poluting my desktop but I have no idea how to delete them.Do you guys know if theres a way?
These two icons popped up after an unfinished and unsuccessfull download of a video.
I would be really happy if you can help.Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to PCHF, have you tried booting into Safe Mode. Switch on or reboot your PC and immediatly start tapping the F8 key and you should eventually see a menu (Advanced Windows Options), use the arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight Safe Mode and press enter, on the welcome screen click your name, and then try to delete the files.

If that doesnt work right click on each file in turn and select Properties. Now check that the Read Only and Hidden boxes are clear.

You using Vista?.

I ask because Vista deletes the object, yet doesn't actually remove the icon of the object you just deleted...this is quite common with me.

Right clicking and hitting "refresh" solves this problem.

Thanks , I have tried both solution,safe mode and refresh , it still wont delete the icons.I'm using XP.It's a weird problem I know.
