I will attempt the safe mode option now, and let you know the results of that if any.

What are the BIOS, and how do you go about resetting them to defaults?

Thanks

The BIOS is the program that each PC runs when it is first powered on. It manages the hardware settings and date-time for the system. It maintains these settings even when the power is turned off by use of a small battery attached to the motherboard.

The BIOS configuration screen can be entered by tapping a key after the momemt the power has been turned on but before the OS starts to boot. This key is usually the Delete key, but many systems are nonstandard and this key could be F1, F2, f12 or the Esc key. Some systems display a message after power-on the tells which key to press to enter the BIOS configuartion menus.

The BIOS menus are typically organized on tabs grouped by general function. You can explore theses menus without having to change anything. Often the top level menus have sub-menus. The menus are navigated by using the arrow keys.

There is almost always a menu item somewhere to set the default configuration - this is the "reset" function.

The last tab is usually reserved for options to exit the BIOS configuation program. If you made any changes that you want to keep then be sure to choose the "save and exit" option.

Thanks for the information regarding the BIOS WinCrazy. Sure will come in handy in the future.

I have performed the safe mode option, and re-installed the audio drivers etc, and everything seems touch wood to be working! If for any reason this changes i will use the BIOS method!

The only problem since then, had few problems with loss of firewall system!
