Default [Pending] Video card - PC or Mac??

Hello - I'm still trying to troubleshoot my black screen of death problem. I still suspect my PCI Express video card. The only extra working card I have is in my Mac (normal PCI). I read that a "Mac" video card can be used in a PC with no problem - but not vice-versa. Is that true?? The PC powers up but will not boot (no beep) with the Mac card.

BTW - I uninstalled the video drivers prior to the experiment. It boots up normally when I put the PC card back in.

Thanks

BTW2 - OK, I keep seeing all these ads for video cards that are PC/Mac. So why the heck won't it boot with a video card I know is working? Is the BIOS looking for the PCI-E card and, when it can't find it, freaking out?? HELP!

A Mac video card will work in a PC because it's actually either an Nvidia or ATI card that Apple carefully chose and integrated their products around. Or at least the recent systems anyway. Depends on how old the Mac is i guess. But...you can get video cards cheap enough nowdays that you can just go get one at any electronics store.. Best Buy, Staples, Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! or any place like that fairly cheap.

Thanks - but that leaves the question: if it works in a PC, why wouldn't the PC boot with that card installed?? I don't see much sense in going out & buying a new card when I've got one that works in my Mac - I'm just trying to troubleshoot my problem & I can't even do that! Very frustrating.............

To be more specific, the card from my Mac is a Radeon 7000 MAC32M. Maybe that's too old (2001?) to work in the PC???
