hi guys i think ive killed me lappy while waiting and searching for an answer to my

now i get this when i boot up please insert the original disk image so i put me 98 se bootup disk in then it says after rebooting disk i/o error no matter what i do i still get this error does this mean the hdd is **** cos i cant do nothing with it either fdisk it ,boot from external rom drive no nowt any advise would be gratefull thanks

I think the best course of action for you would be take it to a laptop repair shop.
From the description you have given, the hard drive has become faulty

thanks for the info guys i wished i took into the pc shop in the first
place instead of tryin to sort it myself lol

ask about file recovery when you take it in-- there may be a chance yet.
