Default [Pending] Resolution Issues

Hey all, I'm having some issues with an HP dv4000t notebook. The monitor is set for 1024x768, but it appears to be displaying in 800x600. The entire display is shifted to the left, with a solid black bar taking up the right fifth of the screen. The display properties show it at 1024x768, which is the highest resolution available, but it's not in it.

Screenshot available (taken on a cameraphone and obtained through tunneling software, so it's terrible quality) on request.

Thanks,
Max

Default Re: Resolution Issues

Welcome to PCHF Max,

Spotted this at notebookreview;
Never download the official HP drivers. The HP ATI X700 drivers are terrible. Download the newest drivers at omegadrivers.net and you'll solve so many problems it's crazy. No special Mobility drivers needed. No ATI Mod Tool needed.

Make sure you set your Powerplay options to high performance when your running off AC Power and high battery for when you are running off your battery.

Download Notebook Hardware Control (google it) and make sure to enable Max Performance for when your are running off AC Power and Dynamic Switching for when you are running off your battery.
Let us know if it helps
