hey i got an ok laptop i know i need to get more ram its 1.3 ghz processor and 256 ram, i was just wondering how to make stuff like mcafee and aol and all that stuff from starting up when windows starts up... i want the most optimal startup which is a bare min startup that i need...
i already emptied my startup folder but mcafee and aol still start up and make it take like 5 min to finish starting up to where i can do something... any help would help

any posts are much appreciated especially from gandalf

Well, you probably want McAffee to run at startup because it's your anti-virus, etc. I highly recommend not disabling any security apps. Otherwise you can go to Start > Run and type in msconfig. Click the startup tab and uncheck what you don't want.

As to more RAM, I recommend having a professional do it because laptops are hard to upgrade. But if you do want to do it yourself, you would need to find out what kind of ram you have. I can't find the link to the program right now and need to leave for work, but if you can't find out what kind (probably something like PC-133) then I will post it when I get home in about 5 hours.
