Okay I set the Primary Boot Device to CD drive.
This seems to have worked.
Something different rather than just a normal boot up anyway.
I ended up with this screen -

So what does this tell us?

Thanks again

Something must have gone one or a step missed out during the burn process. Can you try again, hopefully this link should help: Ultimate Boot CD - Burning the Ultimate Boot CD ISO to a CD with Nero SmartStart and Nero Express 6

okay, I'm not around for 48hrs but I'll redo it using that link asap.
Funnily enough the BSOD hasn't happened the last couple of times I've rebooted (since going into BIOS)
cheers

I got the memtest to work.
It seem to run through some tests continuously.
I have no idea how to interpret them or save/log the results though.

I got a total of 83 errors -
26 from Test 4
46 from Test 6
11 from Test 7

Does this mean I've got some duff RAM?

As I mentioned though, the PC now appears to be booting up okay with no problems.
The BSOD has gone away!

Thanks

ouch, with 83 errors? Oh, that BSOD will definately be back! your problems can only deteriorate from here. File data corruption is a common side effect of faulty memory, so I would seriously recommend replacing ASAP.

I'll do as you say.
Any recommendation on good brand + where to buy?
Thanks for your help.

The best IMO is Kignston, but comes at a high price. OCZ, Crucial, Corsair are also very very good and come with a lifetime warranty. If you have just a little extra cash, I would highly recommend one of these.

Less popular (but still good) are Patriot, Buffalo as well as A-Data and come with less of a warranty period, normally between 2-5 years.

The most important thing is to make sure you don't buy unbranded memory, as these can often be made with poor quality materials, offer no warranty, and you'll end up right back where your started.
