Hi buddy buddies! I've got my hands on an inspiron 4100 running windows XP pro and loaded with lots of software MS Word,Office,Encatra etc but its infected with the Welchia worm. Problem is I dont have an administrator account only a user account...I've downloaded Microsoft's hotfix but the inspiron wont let me run it. I refuse to believe that's it, end of, just reformat and reinstal windows is there anything I can do??? There's plenty of space on the HD couldn't I install another copy of windows on a partition and fix it from there? Or remote assistance or manually edit out the worm and then patch up the registry. I'm grasping at straws .. can anybody help??
