Hello Ratsfightback,

I'm guessing you are trying to install Windows 2000 professional as a client just to use as a regular operating system for a home computer. If so, here is the link...

It's fairly similar to the XP setup.

Now if you are trying to set up Windows 2000 as a server for a network of computers, then you're talking about a much much different ballgame. Here is a link that will help you plan a server environment...

thanks thats something off my mind. a copy of windows 2000 pro is ariving on tuesday and i am only familiar with the xp instalation procedure.
