Hi

I need to downgrade an xp pc to windows 2000. The disc is windows 2000 upgrade will that make any difference.

I will be doing a whole clean install.

Hi Ratsfightback, welcome to the PCHF.

Unfortunately, due to the reduced cost of upgrade versions of operating systems, the upgrade CD is not bootable, and you're required to install an old operating system (such as 98, or NT) before you can install 2000.

Might i ask why? XP is far more secure, and better performing.

i have got windows 95 upgrade but cant install it do you know how

if i order windows 2000 on its own would it be bootable.

is windows me bootable if its full version not upgrade

I will get ME instead. I dont want vista or xp because i cant stand the activation rubbish. the version of me i bought is the full version and not the upgrade.
