Hello JD, Welcome to PCHF.

What is the model number or serial number of your PC?

Hey, JD. I thought it was unlikely when you first mentioned it, but have double checked, and the only related thing the BIOS update fixes, is a flickering when switching between the laptop and a CRT screen. It will not fix a blank screen.

If your screen is blank from the moment you switch your PC on, it's far more likely to be a hardware problem in any case.

EDIT: Marked as answered.
