Default [Pending] problem with installing OS and HDD's

Well I did it good this time. During a PC Housecall scan - it came acorss i386lsass.exe - and the computer shut down. I renamed it to lsass2.exe, now the computer goes past the XP bootup screen and goes blank, then nothing (mouse pointer works). I need to replace the file (or rename the one I changed) but I cannot access the drive/directory.
When i boot from the XP disk and get to a command prompt, I get ACCESS IS DENIED when I try to write or change to the i386 directory. Since there is sensitive data I





Now this is the problem i plugged in hard drives and it detected em no error's and well it did the same thing where it goes to login screen then i get a black screen. now i tryed a reinstallled windows XP BUT when i clicked install it said it didnt detect any hard drives Help please as to a fix for this so i can rreinstall the Operating System, remember i had hdd's installed and it went to windows xp loading bar so i knew they where plugged in but when i tryed and REINSTALLED Operating System no luck, help please.

Please don't double post.
You have double posted this thread also into the hard drives forum, this is not needed so i have deleted that thread and we will stick to this one.

Hi there i notice in your original post you said you downloaded XP. I need to ask if this is correct as site policy does not allow us to give support for illegal/pirated software.

I didnt download xp and i dont know where u got that from? maybe i mean to say reinstall i purchased it of newegg.com for 90 bucks ;



typo i said redownloaded Operating System i meant Reinstall Operating System my bad lol. yeah my bad for saying downloaded instead of installed* and reinstalled my bad....its 4am so yeah im tired.

hehe thats ok, if you go into the Bios, does the HDD show up? If not are you comfortable opening your computer and taking the cable out the back of the HDD and re inserting it?

Yeah i opened it up and the cables are all secure i only got 1 PC and 2 monitors so i need to transfer this monitor and ill check if it detects it in the bios ill post back in an hour or 2 when i get the chance to do that.
