Default [Pending] Windows start problem and pc freezes at times...

Hi everyone,
I have a couple of problems with my pc at the moment.

1) Everytime I start my PC normally it freezes up on me while loading Windows. But if I use F8 to stall the start (ie wait 30 seconds or so in that menu) and then click start Windows normally, it works perfectly fine.

2) Sometimes my pc freezes and my headset gives a loud ongoing peep.

I've reinstalled Windows, replaced all possible hardware (video- and soundcards, hard drive, RAM...). I'm starting to think i've got a problem with my mainboard, but I'm hoping not...lets see what you guys say.

Could anyone help me on this?

Welcome to the site Blubb - sorry no-one has replied to you for a day!

It sounds like a RAM/Mainboard issue to me too.... As you said, you have literally changed the entire contents of the PC and re-formatted, with no success. I wish I could give you better news.

Did you also reset the bios and load default settings?

No worries

Now back to topic: Yeah I did reset the BIOS, but when I had a look to double check it just now, i noticed hyper-threading was turned on - so i turned it off, and at the moment Windows seems to be launching without problems

I'll have to check if the freezing problem is still there though...

****, seems like the crashing problem is still there...

something i find very strange is that it particularly likes freezing up while watching embedded videos (like youtube and so on...)
