Default [Pending] Toshiba Lap/Belkin Card Conflict: Cannot Connect

Hi,
Not sure where to have posted this......
I am having an unsolvable problem with my husband's Toshiba Laptop ( Satellite 105-S4274 ): it usually cannot connect to the Internet at all; sometimes will, but will disconnect and/or have slow or partial pageload most of the time when it does.

Home Wireless Network: Cable HighSpeed/Motorola Cable Modem, Belkin G+ Router,
Belkin G+ Notebook Card, Belkin G+ Desktop Card; with my system as the Host.
I am running WinXP Pro SP2, Toshiba runs WinXP Media Center ( SP2 ).

No problem with Router/Modem/Host System.
No problem with other Desktop connection.
Toshiba receives strong signal.
Toshiba wireless menu/internal Intel Adapter is in conflict with the Belkin G+ Notebook Card. Cannot connect with just Toshiba as it is at all; and connecting with Belkin is either impossible or extremely problematic.

Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Ravenquille

Welcome to PC Help Forum

Look to see if the Wireless Zero Config service is disabled, if it isn't, then dis-able it.

1. Click Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc in the Open box.
2. In Computer Management, double-click Services and Applications, and then click Services.
3. In the details pane, right-click Wireless Zero Configuration, and then click Properties.
4. In the Startup type box, click disabled, and then click OK.
5. Quit Computer Management, and then restart the computer.

Test...

Hi Hengis,

1. Did you mean Start/Run/type: services.msc?
( then #2 through #4 )

Tried this; 'Wireless Zero Configuration' was set to 'Automatic', so I 'Disabled' it, and Rebooted.
No change.
I 'Disabled' the Toshiba's Intel Wireless Adapter; leaving only the Belkin 'Enabled'.
Rebooted; and it was, then, connected. Testing/surfing/leaving on the last few hours, to see if it disconnects. So far so good; but it has behaved like this before.

Icon showing 'Intel Wireless not connected', Icon showing 'Wireless Belkin connected'; and the Network Icon 'Belkin OURNETWORK' shows 'not available' ( and it is connected and working fine ). Not sure what that is all about.

Now, I have to continue to tackle the Compaq Laptop's Connection problem......

Thanks,
Ravenquille

Yes - dunno what I was thinking right then.

So, you are now going to test this over a period of time now, right? Is it still working?
