For the past few weeks every couple of days for about half an hour or so my computer goes nuts on the CPU usage and when i check the processes that are running there are mainly two which are going mad. The image names of them are McNASvc.exe and svchost.exe. Ive done a definition search and ive been advised not to touch McNASvc.exe as it is to do with my virus protection (mcafee), however, i believe the svchost.exe can be a virus using this name to fool the user. On checking all the processes on the task manager i have the image name svchost.exe repeated 7 times!! sureley this can't be right?? the user name for each image name is either SYSTEM (4 times). LOCAL SERVICE (1 time) or NETWORK SERVICE (2 times). The mem usage for all of them is roughly the same, between 3500K - 7000K but there is one which is using 29508K which is the process making the CPU usage run high. Ive ran the mcafee virus scan many times but nothing is detected etc etc. Can anyone please help, this is doing my head in!!!
Thanks, Rob.
