hi

i have just formated the C partion of my harddrive
and wish to re-connect to the internet,
i have installed my belkin wireless usb network adaptor, and scanned it
it finds the virgin netgear connection fine and gets a good clear signal but won´t actually
allow my to go online.

there is a connection between my pc and the router downstairs but it is not showing a connections between the router and the internet

this is strange as my girlfreinds laptop, is still connecting fine and is having no problems, this leads my to believe that maybe windows is preventing me from connecting for some reason.

i am using windows XP Pro, can anyone shine any light on this.

Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet Connections/Network Setup Wizard-- The wizard should be able to guide you through.
Read the selections--
Like yours would be... "this computer connects through a residential gateway" etc. follow the prompts.
