Default [Pending] Problem with MSCONFIG

So running out of hard drive space, I decided to buy a new Maxtor 500 GB SATA hard drive. Copied my C drive on my old hard drive to my new hard drive and set the new one to be my primary one with Windows, while my old one is a backup drive...anyway, for the most part things worked fine except for a few issues after I copied my old drive to the new one - 1) Microsoft Office quit working - I fixed that one and its working now
2) a number of my shortcuts are now misteriously missing icons
3) the big problem is that MSCONFIG won't load. I've tried using sfc /scannow to fix it and it didn't help. I also tried loading the CD, restarting, booting from the CD and running the repair windows installation option - that didn't help. So now I'm stumped - how can I fix this problem without having to do a complete reinstall of Windows?

Hi

Maybe your msconfig is corrupt. Download it from here: http://www.techadvice.cc/files/y44b1...p/msconfig.exe and put it into your Windows\system32 folder

Of course its corrupt, it must have gotten corrupt while copying...I did however realize that the reason that the windows repair might not have worked is because it was repairing my OLD windows and not the NEW one on my SATA hard drive, I had forgotten that it wouldn't detect it...I'm trying to figure out how to get the Windows CD to load the SATA drives for my NFORCE 4 board and detect the new drive but I haven't figure it out yet...been trying to use nlite to make a new installation CD with the drivers, but even following the guide for integrating the nforce drivers onto the CD I haven't gotten it right yet...
