Default [Answered] Animated images on teh desktop.

Hey there.

On my last PC, I used to be able to drag animated images (.GIF, I suppose) from web pages onto my desktop and they'd become cropped animated images that I could size of move around on the desktop. I never had any fancy programs, and I had XP at that time too. But now, on this new PC I have (XP also), I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it, and google searches lead to nowhere.

I've tried that 'customize desktop' w/ web pages **** but that literally takes the whole page and I dun want that.

So yeah, totally lost here, and looking for help.

Hey, and welcome to PCHF!

Have you tried right-clicking the image and choosing "Save Image As..."?

Hello Knirps, Welcome to PCHF!

I can without a doubt promise you that Windows XP alone does not have this facility. It does however have the facility to embed web documents, but that embedded web document would have had the facilities to crop images, but this facility in not supplied as part of the OS. It is not any fancy software as you mentioned, but it's would have most likely be downloaded as part of a Windows XP theme.
