uuhhmmm....
A bit more information would be extremely helpful.

If you're PC is a store bought (IBM/Dell/HP) then you should have restore discs which will send it back to factory default
If you have a custom built/ordered PC, then you'll have to format and reinstall windows.

here is the story of how my comp got messed.
ok i got a virus, and i re installed windows, and that fixed it except one part. the internet
it erased all my documents i saw at first but then i looked at C docs and set's and it was in there
all my program files were there but no shortcuts on the desktop
when i tried to install the SBC global cd the internet one, it couldnt find my connection.
the modem wasnt installed. it seemd that the re install wiped all the internet settings
but if its the case like the my documents
, the old setting are somewhere on my computer. i dont know where, and i dont know how to reactivate them. thats all i really need to know.

Let me see, you did a reinstall of windows but all your files were there, right? I think this doesn't actually solved the problem. You might need to do a complete cleaning and a re-installation, meaning to format your hard drive is the best solution; the best solution to get rid of the virus and get your internet connection to work, or:

Do the pre-work and scan with hijackthis and post your log in the hijackthis logs section of this forum. Some of the technical staff might help you.

Here's the link:

Hope that helped!

it is gone because it was probably in the windows system files, and if it wasnt, i would have known because my computer would be completely useless if it wasnt gone.
The Reinstall fixed all teh problems on the computer except one. the internet. if the virus is still there, its disabled, or something happend to it that made the effects stop.
and i dont know how to format hard drives...
all we probably have to do is find where the internet settings file is stored and replace it with the one that is in there right now.
that should fix it
i hope... or i could system restore to before i had the virus.
the internet worked then.
