Opened my task manager yesterday and found it was looking like this. Anyone know of how to get your task bar back? Thanks in advance for any help

Thanks for the help but no luck. Dont think I used the right words for the problem

My taskbar / startbar is fine but the bar that goes on top of the task manager has gone. I cant switch applications or see the PCs performance etc

Oh sorry, now i understand. Ok if you have an XP CD try running the System File Checker. Click on Start then Run, and type in the open box "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and press enter. This will go through replacing any damaged or missing system files.

just double click on the very top [above the tabs] and it will be normal
