Question Data getting corrupted!

This is a huge issue for me so help would be great. thx

This problem has been happening since I bought and put together my custom computer. Every once in a while, I'll start up the computer and the CHKDSK utility will run (check disk). For those who don't know, this utility removes corrupted files from the hard drive at startup. Mainly the corrupted files will be savegames for my games or files that the games need to run (don't ask me why games I dunno). This usually results in me having to reinstall the game or lose savegames. I have had to reinstall Unreal Tournament 2003, Knights of the old republic, Battlefront, and many others. Currently, I have to reinstall Battlefront 2 after I write this message. I have also reinstalled Unreal Tournament 2004 multiple times.

So it would be greatly appreciated if somebody could shed some light on this. I have no clue if this problem is with my Operating system (which worked fine before I upgraded my computer), my hard drive (which also worked fine before I bought my new computer), My RAM, my paging file, or my motherboard. Had anybody had a problem like this before? Please let me know.

I also have to mention this corruption seems to occur randomly among the games I have recently played.

First, click on the System File Checker link in my signature area and follow the directions.
Second, if that test does not indicate any problems, then click on the Pre-Work link in my signature area and follow the directions.

Good Luck...

Ok, after finely finding my service pack 2 CD, I ran through the check and I was missing a lot of files =)

Hopefully this fixes the problem, if it doesn't I'll be back. In the meantime, your the man Gandalf.
