new here, have a problem, seems the place to ask for help

i have this problem.

i go to shutdown or restart my pc.
90% of the time, im getting this error :



has anyone got any idea why ?

i have :
xp service pack 2.
duel core D intel
1.5 gig ddr 2

this is an odd one.

any help?

Do you use a floppy drive? If you don't then go into the bios and disable the floppy drive controller

drat, that never worked.

still getting this error message.
not even got a floppy in the pc.

Just to check, do you have a floppy drive listed in "My Computer" ?

I think it could also be if you have a memory card inserted in the PC... Like a Memory card for Digital Cameras... I had the same issue a few weeks ago, and it seemed to be related to this...
Just a guess..

Anyway, nice to be here. :-)

You could try the old trick... go to device manger-- look for Drive A (usually a floppy) and click uninstall... then reboot.
Windows should re-recognize the drive and load the driver.
