If you're thinking it may be the drive, this one is the second DVD drive i've chucked in there.

Ok what i would like you to do is have two drive connected, insert the XP Disk into one, and then download and burn an XP Boot disk (CD Version) onto a Rewriteable CD and boot with that into the Windows XP Install.

Sorry to be an incessant pain in the ****, but would you mind fishing the link off the bootdisk site. It's all rather confusing. I was wandering around it and found so many different options. My hard drive is formatted to NTFS if it makes a difference. Ta

Ta. Just realized that i dont have two IDE cable ports in the pc; and i'm afraid out of the 5/6 drives that i own, none are SATA. The drive is PATA by the way and uses a IDE connection. So I cannot run two disc drives and the hard drive at the same time . . .

Thanks.
Any ideas on a way round this?
A IDE - SATA converter, ala those on ebuyer?
