Here's the first part.....
Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.

DETAIL - An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed unrecoverably. The registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the registry.

Then it said it would log me onto Windows but each time would be new and no info would be saved. It's like the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray!

Ok, well this gives me a LOT of information...and a way out for you
If you restart the computer (into Safe Mode) by pushing F8 before the windows logo comes up.
Log in with the Administrator password...

Goto Start -> My Computer -> Local Disk (C) -> Documents and Settings -> your username that is having the trouble -> select the NTUSER.DAT file, and delete it.

If you don't see this file, you will need to goto Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> Show hidden files and Show system files

Restart your computer again normally, and log in as per usual...this should be fine.

You might lose some settings (program defaults), but you shouldn't lose any data

Ok, Back. I deleted it from my names folder. I did notice when I went under safe mode it said ADMINISTRATOR and LYNNE to log on. Should I have both? I am admin. And that didn't work doing it under my log on...Lynne

What next?

I tried under Administrator and Lynne. It didn't work.

I have to go lay down a while. I've been up 36 hours. I'll be back as soon as I get back up. If my hubby doesn't smother me with the pillow.

Please post what I may try next. Oh, empty the deleted NTUSER.DAT from Safe mode?

Yea, you'll only see Administrator account when in safe mode...it's desgined that way

Did it delete the file successfully, or did it give you an error?
