Question [Answered] XP Setup problems

i have a new cd for new xp cd, and before, i was having virus problems, and started a new xp installation, when i start up the computer, the xp installation restarts. how do i exit it and install my new one.

Hi there, you need to go into you PC's BIOS (F2 or DEL) when you start the PC. Once in the BIOS look for a tab called "Boot" or something similar. Once in here you need to change the boot order so that the CD Rom is the first boot device.

CD Rom (sometimes referred to as a "SCSI" Device)
Hard Disk
Floppy Disk Drive (If applicable)

Save changes, make sure the XP CD is in the drive and reboot. The CD Drive should then read off the CD.

setup is xp of course, and its giving me this error, cannot install the product catalogs. when i went to the log file,
it said it was cancelled by the user.
ive looked at ms support, but what they said didnt work and its not the RAM because this computer was working a week ago perfectly.
