Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for the weekend.

Ok, so here are my last few dump files for you to view. Yes, both vid cards tested are AGP. I'm about to throw in the PCI vid card I have to see what happens with it. I'll post results when I have them.

Thanks

Ok, so I put in the PCI vid card and still get bsod's. The first one was funny, I let pc set without touching for about 20 mins or so, then as soon as I opened ie, I started to type in the google toolbar to search and bam!! bsod!!... Then after I restarted, I got another one shortly after reboot.

Here are the dump files to view. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Sorry, I lost this thread for a while. My fault entirely. Thanks for bumping, or I wouldn't have found it again!

I'll take a look right away.

Okay, we still got some driver issues here. Download this and see if it can remove the old video card drivers (haven't personally tested it but it should work):

|MG| Free Download - DriverManager 1.02

Then I need to tell me the make and model of the video card that's currently inserted (i.e. the one we're getting drivers for), so that I can get a guaranteed-compatible driver.

I'll tell you what, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to reformat/install xp again to make sure it is 100% clean of any/all drivers. Then before I install the driver for my vid card (Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 4000, PCI slot), I'll check back here for the driver you recommend to install. The thing that leaves me a little sceptical about this is that the last time I reformatted, I got a bsod before I even installed any drivers, but that was using the AGP card/slot also... We'll see, hopefully this will lead to some insight on the situation...
Thanks

I believe this is what you'll want:

ForceWare Windows XP/2000 32-bit

It was doing that BSOD thing with the old card because the card likely is defective and was being strained over what it could handle just by Windows determining the proper resolution. I assume while and after installing it was set at 1024x768, when you say it only runs stable at 800x600.

Yes, reinstalling would be a good solution to driver-cleanup if you're willing.

Edit: Keep in mind that that driver is intended for 32-bit Windows XP; if you have 64-bit, it may and likely will return a BSOD.
