Question [Answered] updating laptop
Thank you for considering this question.

I have cable broadband on my home desktop. I also have a laptop that I take with me to our cabin where I don't have access to broadband. They both are running XP. When I update Windows on the laptop it takes forever. Is there some way to transfer XP updates from my desktop to my laptop. I have tried copying the files from Windows\$hf_mig$\ to the laptop, but it doesn't recognise them.

Any suggestions?

Hi Chuck, welcome to the PCHF.

The only way to do this, is to download the hot fixes individually, which would take a considerabally longer time thant just Windows Updates.

Unfortuantely there's no immediate way around this issue that I'm aware of sorry.
