have you looked to see if your sound card has a seperate slider for the headphone jack?....... My laptop does. just double click on the speaker in the system tray or check in the control panel.

Go go Start > Programs > Acc > Entertainment > Volume Control.
Make sure the Wave Balance is turned up.

Otherwise, it might just be your headphones. Sennheiser headphones are really nice, and they draw a little more power than your average headphones. So a volume that was good on cheapo headphones may not be enough on those.

Senheisers are designed to be higher quality...so they would likely force the sound volume lower so as not to allow damage to the speakers.

You also don't want to have something so close to your ear so loud. This will make you go deaf quicker...it's not fun.
