Default [Fixed] Internet connection issue on new HD

I've just installed a new hard drive with Windows XP as the OS, and for some reason it isn't detecting my internet settings.

We have the broadband modem downstairs, with an ethernet cable coming up into my room. I'm posting this using my old hard drive, so I know it isn't a problem with the cable. When I'm using the new hard drive, there's no response at all for some reason.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,

James

Heya and welcome to PCHF,

Did you make sure to install all drivers for the motherboard and/or PCI cards?

That was the problem! I totally forgot to re-install the LAN driver.

Thank you so much, from my new HD!

So it's an ethernet broadband modem?

When you open your internet browser just is just say "cannot load" etc. ?
