Question [Answered] ntldr error, any options to repair this?

what options do i have to get the ntldr back into the system?

so far i have tried two progs, neither worked, i have also tried to do a repair install, it gets the first part done upto point of repair, fresh install or quit, i go for repair, i then get has been repaired, to continue with upgrade press enter, i do so, we now have ta reboot, now what should occur is the next step of install, but it either doesnt rebbot, just goes into a kind of sleep mode so i have to press refresh/restart button or power off and on, then it goes through same thing, how do i get passed this?

anyone know of a sure fire way to fix this problem

i have had similar problems during repairs, what u wanna do is hold down f8 during boot to get to the boot menu, and select the debug option, this has got me past several freezing/malfunctioning repairs

Hi there, if you have your XP CD you could run a repair install.

ok i have done this

Windows will then make some checks. Then it will restart and you will see a message displayed that reads "Press any key to boot from the CD" Do not press any keys at this point, let it carry on what its doing.

but it does not carry on as it still throws up the NTLDR MISSING message.

so that rules out repairing the o/s
