Default XP wired / wireless prob

It's a network thing.

I've got 2 XP machines and a wireless network for them both to access the internet. I need to share files between the 2 machines but want to do it over a wired connection for reliability.

I installed 2 NICs, used a crossover cable, set up a workgroup and then set up the file shares. It still seems to use the wireless network for the file sharing though when I want it to use the wired one.

How can I make it use the wired connection only for the two machines to talk to eachother? I want to keep the wireless too (for internet access).

Help needed please!

i hav found this to be a problem too, you see, because the wireless is connected to the internet and it gets given an ip, the pc sets this as the primary network, and you cant set it to go through the lan cable if both pc's are connected to the "primary" network

the only way that i can think of to fix this would be to dissconnect the wireless network while copying, but as far as reliability goes, my dad once had to back up his files to my pc since it has a much bigger hdd, he copied them all over the wireless network, all 100gb of them, and without a problem

hope this helps
