Ok lets see if I can write this so it makes sense to whoever reads this!! I booted up my XP Pro SP2 PC and decided to clean out a few old programs. I have 4 user accounts set up but only one as Administrator so thats what I logged into.
Now I should point out that I have two hard drives. One is partioned as C and D and the other is G. For the last few days I've been getting warnings that my C drive has very little space(Bet the experts are going uh oh) but I haven't worried about it as there's heaps on G which is where I normally put my 'stuff'.
Anyway after cleaning out what I wanted I logged out and went to my 'normal' user account. When I put my password in and pushed enter nothing happened. So I tired again and this time got a warning. Since I was suffering from a cold I didn't really click onto what it was telling me so I just clicked through until it got to the desktop. BUT it wasn't my desktop, it has created a guest account!
I also manged to get the error messages again and apprently its because I have very low drive space on C. (I was also installing Windows updates so presume they default to this drive!)
If I go to my Admin account I can go into Explorer and look at the files in my normal account in D and G but access is denied if I click on the username folder in the C drive.
I've tried a few things including trying to take ownership of the folders but access is still denied. I can't even copy from them to another account. I'm wondering if there is a registery problem and perhaps I can repair it using the XP disc?
At present theres only about 320MB left on C. What do you think?
