Default removing a program

hi people,

I am helping a friend clean up there pc and so far so good.

However the previous owner had Hitman 2 loaded on the pc and now we are trying to remove it because its about a gig of space. when i use add/remove programs it tells me i need to reinstall it before i can uninstall it (kinda confusing?) does anyone know how i can correctly remove it without the disc?

Many thanks

Matty

Im not sure how you can completely remove it, as it has probably added new files to other places in order to work.

But one way you can get rid of the game itself is to locate to My Programs or wherever it be that you saved hitman when installing it and try to find an icon named uninstall, or the setup file that instaals/repairs/uninstalls the game from your hard disk. If not you could delete those files. Incase you need it back I would leave it in the recycle bin.

hope this helps, jake

Rather than delete the referenced files, just rename the folder.
Example, if the folder is called ABC, rename it ZABC.
That way if you need to bring it back, all you have to do is rename ZABC to ABC.
Much easier and safer since some Recycle Bins purge after 24 hours or less.

Depending on how important this is, there are products on the market that reportedly will do what you want. Here is one. Check it out - Windows Optimization and Registry Cleaner Utilities | Macecraft Software
