The XP "look" is called "Luna", and it's not working correctly.

First thing I would try is put your windows XP cd in the drive, goto Start -> Run -> type in sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

It might take 5 minutes, or 5 hours to complete. What it does, is checks for corrupt/missing system files and replaces them with the original.

Once you've tried that, we'll go from there

Nothing happened and the problem is the same for the default skin too...

That is a registry edit-- sometimes things can get changed via an error.

Yeah i thought that too. I`ve found this root at the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced

and there are plenty of options to change the taskbar, but i think that the program that make the problem (already uninstalled) deleted one of those entries. The link u gave me is only for the shutdown button, i tried to find the option for the taskbar but i think is a deleted one.
